A shooting on San Antonio's East Side late Friday left a 50-year-old man dead and three people detained, according to police, turning an ordinary evening into a crime scene investigation.
Officers responded just after 7:30 p.m. to reports of gunfire near the intersection of Lakefront and Lakeledge, where first responders pronounced the victim dead. The intersection sits inside the Lakeside residential neighborhood on the city's East Side.
San Antonio police said two people were detained at a nearby QuikTrip along U.S. Highway 87 and a third person was detained near FM 78, as reported by KSAT. Authorities said they are investigating the relationship between the parties involved, and have not yet publicly explained how the detained individuals may be connected to the fatal shooting. Additional information was not immediately available.
