Las Vegas police are investigating a homicide after a person was killed Friday night near Boulder Highway and Missouri Avenue in east Las Vegas, authorities said. Officers spent the night canvassing the area and talking with witnesses as they tried to piece together what happened.
According to KTNV, Metro said the incident took place Friday night near the intersection and that details were still limited. The station reported that a news crew was heading to the scene and that officials had not released additional information at the time.
Police Response And How To Share Tips
Metro has not released the name of the victim and has not said whether any arrests have been made. Detectives are asking anyone who might know something about what happened to come forward.
Tipsters can contact Crime Stoppers at (702) 385-5555 or call the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department non-emergency line at (702) 828-3111, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
A Corner With A Troubling Track Record
The stretch of Boulder Highway around Missouri Avenue has been no stranger to serious trouble in recent months. In February, a reported road-rage shooting shut down the intersection, coverage that came from FOX5. In January, a pedestrian who entered traffic on Boulder Highway was struck and killed, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
Those incidents have underscored long-running safety concerns on that busy east Valley corridor, and Friday night’s killing adds another grim entry to that list.
Metro police said they will release more information when they are able. This story will be updated as additional details become available.
