The Punta Cana name is already in play in Florida. The restaurant’s official site lists locations in Kissimmee and Pembroke Pines, which suggests familiar Dominican staples could be on deck for Jacksonville as well. It is not yet clear whether the Jacksonville filing is affiliated with those existing restaurants; Punta Cana Restaurant lists only the other Florida locations.
How it would fit on North Julia
If it moves forward, a Punta Cana outpost at 116 N. Julia would join event venue The Grand Downtown along with smaller eateries such as Mixed Fillings Pie Shop, Rojas Pizza and Indulgence Southern Bistro, adding to a growing downtown dining strip.
