A man was struck and killed in a hit-and-run in North Philadelphia on Sunday night, according to police. Police Searching for Driver
Philadelphia Police Inspector D. F. Pace told reporters that officers found a man who later died and that investigators are now working to track down the vehicle and the driver, according to NBC10 Philadelphia. The station reported that police did not immediately have a description of the suspect or the vehicle. NBC10 noted the investigation is ongoing.
How To Help
Police asked anyone with information, video or dashcam footage to call 215-686-TIPS (8477) or submit an anonymous tip online, according to the Philadelphia Police Department. Investigators specifically urged neighbors and nearby businesses around East Lehigh and Aramingo to review their security cameras for anything that might help piece together what happened.
History at the Junction
The Lehigh and Aramingo intersection has seen deadly crashes before, including a 2016 Port Richmond hit-and-run that killed a man riding a motorized scooter, as reported by PhillyVoice. City and police efforts to crack down on reckless driving along Aramingo have been spotlighted in earlier coverage, including a targeted enforcement push that put more officers on streets known for aggressive drivers. For now, investigators are still sorting through evidence and said they will release more details when they become available.
