Las Vegas police are looking for two people who bolted from a crash scene late Monday night in the northwest valley, ditching what officers say was a stolen SUV and leaving the other driver hurt in the wreck.
The two-car collision happened just before 11 p.m. in the area of W Gowan Road and N Rainbow Boulevard, just northeast of the I-11 and Cheyenne interchange. Two people in a sedan were taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, while the two occupants of a midsize SUV ran off before officers got there, according to police.
Crash details
According to KTNV, the crash involved a sedan and a midsize SUV, and officers later determined the SUV had been reported stolen. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department told the station that the two people in the SUV took off on foot before officers arrived, while the two people in the sedan were transported to an area hospital with injuries described as not life-threatening.
Not an isolated incident
Stolen vehicles have been at the center of several recent wrecks across the valley, turning traffic stops into scenes straight out of an action movie, just without the Hollywood budget. On April 4, FOX5 reported a separate northwest-valley crash involving a stolen car that left multiple people hospitalized after the driver allegedly lost control at high speed.
