A Cleveland man who terrorized a mother and daughter at gunpoint in East Cleveland has been ordered to spend more than four decades behind bars. On Monday, 20-year-old Doyral Wynn was sentenced to a prison term of 40.5 to 45.5 years after admitting to the rapes, prosecutors said.
Wynn pleaded guilty to two counts of rape, one count of aggravated robbery, one count of felonious assault and multiple weapons and related charges, according to reporting from Fox 8 Cleveland. The station reported that the plea and sentence were entered in Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court.
Ballistics and the weapon link
Prosecutors say shell casings recovered from the May 2, 2024 assault matched casings from a March 2025 shooting, a link investigators say they uncovered through the NIBIN ballistics database, according to the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor's Office. The office says a search warrant executed in April 2025 turned up seven firearms and other evidence, and that the gun tied to the crimes had been reported stolen in 2023.
Arrest and indictment
Wynn was taken into custody in April 2025 near East 111th Street and Ashbury Avenue after police served that warrant. A grand jury later returned a sweeping indictment that included multiple rape and kidnapping counts, as reported by Cleveland 19. Authorities linked Wynn to several shootings across the area as investigators pulled together ballistics, witness and DNA evidence.
Prosecutor's reaction and victims
“Doyral Wynn’s violence knows no boundaries,” Prosecutor Michael C. O’Malley said in earlier remarks, according to a statement from the county prosecutor's office. Prosecutors say the victims, a 37-year-old woman and her 19-year-old daughter, were taken to a hospital after the attack and have cooperated with investigators.
