Flyrite Chicken is back in East Austin, and this time it is rolling in on four wheels instead of reopening a full brick-and-mortar. The local chicken favorite quietly returned to Seventh Street on March 26 as a food truck parked at bar-and-patio hangout Stoney's Good Time Ranch, serving up sandwiches and bar-ready sides to anyone dropping by.

As reported by Community Impact, the Flyrite food truck started service on March 26 and is based at Stoney's Good Time Ranch at 3526 E. Seventh St. Director of operations Dallas Miller told Community Impact, "While this location is limited due to it being a Food Truck we're happy to be back where it all started." According to the report, the truck is managed by Angel Delgado and offers dine-in during Stoney's operating hours, along with pickup and delivery ordered through Flyrite's website, with catering still available for larger groups.

The menu leans on craft chicken sandwiches and house-made sauces. Flyrite lists staples like the Cowboy, a chicken breast topped with cheddar, bacon, jalapeños, house-made pickles and Hoss Sauce. Sides include tots, sidewinder fries and mac and cheese, with shakes and a small beer list rounding things out. The lineup also keeps plant-based and gluten-friendly options, staying familiar to longtime Flyrite fans.

Backstory
Flyrite first opened a brick-and-mortar spot on East Seventh in 2016 but closed that storefront in early 2025. The former address at 2129 E. Seventh St. is listed as permanently closed on MapQuest. The brand still has a presence at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, with a location across from Gate 21 listed on Flyrite. Returning as a truck gives the team a lower-overhead way to reconnect with the east side while keeping catering and airport operations active.
