
A weekend house party at an Airbnb on Poplar Drive in Fayetteville ended in gunfire on Saturday night, leaving a man and a woman wounded and police searching for whoever pulled the trigger.
Both victims were taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where authorities said they are expected to be OK. Officers at the scene reported that bullets also hit several vehicles and nearby properties as they worked the block and started knocking on doors.
Altercation At House Party Turns Violent
Fayetteville police told WRAL that officers responded to the Poplar Drive home after an altercation at the party escalated into gunfire on the same block. Investigators said both victims were taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center and are expected to recover, and that vehicles and nearby properties were struck by bullets.
