What started as a routine Wednesday morning on Wilmington Road in Neshannock Township turned serious when a Huntington Bank branch was robbed, according to law enforcement. The suspect took off before officers arrived, and no injuries were reported. Federal agents have been called in to back up the local investigation.
According to WPXI, the robbery was reported at about 9:42 a.m. on the 2600 block of Wilmington Road. Police said the person fled before they reached the bank, and detectives are now pursuing leads.
Federal agents join the probe
WTAE reports that the FBI in Pittsburgh was called to the scene and is working with local and county law enforcement. The station notes that agents were seen near Route 18 by Maitland Lane as investigators canvass the area for witnesses and video.

In a statement to WKBN, a Huntington spokesperson said the company is cooperating fully with authorities and that the "safety and well-being of our customers and colleagues is our highest priority." Huntington's public branch listing identifies the Neshannock location at 2699 Wilmington Road.
