Just Salad quietly flipped on the lights at its newest shop this week, slipping another plant-forward fast-casual option into a corridor where office workers and students are already hustling for quick midday meals. The opening deepens the chain’s D.C. expansion after it first entered the market in 2025 and follows a run of recent debuts around the region.
In a press release via Just Salad, the company billed the Foggy Bottom spot as its third location in the District and laid out a grand-opening slate that includes Giveback Day and $5 Meal Days. The announcement also puts front and center the brand’s reusable-bowl program and its Certified B Corporation status, key parts of the sustainability pitch it is making to local diners.
Downtown openings and local rollout
The Foggy Bottom arrival comes on the heels of a downtown launch at 12th and F Street earlier this spring, a debut that neighborhood blog PoPville spotted open in March. PoPville also notes that Just Salad planted its first D.C. flag in October 2025 and has leaned on app-based rewards and short-term promotions to coax customers back for repeat visits.
More locations on the way
Washington Business Journal reported that Just Salad already has a fourth District location in the pipeline as it continues to scale across the city. Local reporting has pointed to a Friendship Heights store planned for 5300 Wisconsin Avenue NW in the Residences at Mazza redevelopment, according to MoCo Show.
Why the brand is growing here
Industry coverage says Just Salad is zeroing in on dense, office-heavy corridors as part of a national growth strategy backed by new funding. Forbes reported that the company raised roughly $200 million in 2025 to speed up that expansion. Combined with its reusable-bowl rewards and carbon-labeling efforts, the approach is designed to appeal to weekday commuters as well as nearby residents looking for a regular lunch spot.
Just Salad’s grand-opening calendar and rewards details are already posted on the company’s site for local customers eyeing a new routine. Expect Giveback Day events, $5 chef-designed meals and reusable-bowl promos as the Foggy Bottom shop settles into the neighborhood lunch rotation.
