Glamorama, the Twin Cities' once-annual fashion-and-music fundraiser, is staging a comeback in downtown Minneapolis. The one-night event is set for the State Theatre on May 15 and is promising choreographed runway moments, live performances and a VIP after-party just steps from the venue. Organizers say proceeds will support childhood cancer research as the showcase reconnects with the city's fashion and music scene.

Children's Cancer Research Fund is presenting the reboot on Friday, May 15, with a 6 p.m. curtain, according to the group's events calendar. The production is slated for the State Theatre at 805 Hennepin Ave., and the venue's listing confirms box-office hours and VIP details, per Hennepin Arts.

CCRF Bought The Brand And Recruited Local Talent

When the Glamorama trademark lapsed, Children's Cancer Research Fund CEO Elizabeth Allen bought the name and set about relaunching the event. "I really wanted to bring Glamorama back and its reputation for highlighting our amazing city and community and the talent that lives here," Allen said. She tapped local creative producer Grant Whittaker as show creative director. Whittaker called the return a "full circle moment" and promised a nostalgia-friendly soundtrack, saying, "They’ll know the tracks, they’ll know the tunes."

The live lineup leans into 1990s house and dance with Robin S., Crystal Waters and CeCe Peniston, and the show will be emceed by Amanda Brinkman, Laura Schara, Talesha Byrd, Harmony Kaplan and Ashton Pemapanik Dunkley. Organizers have shifted Glamorama's famed after-party to LaSalle Plaza, where DJ Ray Mills will handle the music, say tickets start at $100, and note that the event's original run raised roughly $5.5 million for children's cancer research, as reported by the Star Tribune.

Tickets, VIP Experience And The Secondary Market

Tickets and VIP packages are available through the State Theatre box office and the theatre's partners. AXS lists the May 15 event and maintains a resale marketplace.

Secondary marketplaces show many seats trading in the low hundreds, with broker sites reporting averages near $230, per StarTickets. VIP packages promise early access to a reception at LaSalle Plaza and entry to the transformed after-party, according to the venue and event listings at Hennepin Arts.

For longtime attendees it is a homecoming, and for CCRF it is a strategic fundraising reboot that ties fashion to research. More information and official ticketing links are available from the Children's Cancer Research Fund event page at Children's Cancer Research Fund.
