A deadly burst of gunfire shook a Boyle Heights block Monday night, leaving one person dead and a gunman on the run, according to Los Angeles police.
Officers responded around 8:01 p.m. to the 2800 block of Glenn Avenue, where they found a victim suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite first aid efforts at the scene, the victim was pronounced dead, police said.
The suspected shooter, described only as an unknown man, was seen fleeing on foot as homicide detectives launched their investigation.
According to KTLA, detectives have not released the victim’s identity, and no arrests have been announced as of the initial report.

Hollenbeck-area homicide detectives are canvassing the neighborhood and asking anyone with information or video to contact the LAPD. Per the LAPD, tips can help build leads while officers process the scene and follow up on surveillance footage and witness accounts.
