
One person was shot Saturday in southeast Charlotte and rushed to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, authorities said. The gunfire broke out in the 6000 block of Pineburr Road, just off Monroe Road, in a residential stretch of the city's Southeast division. Police taped off the street while emergency crews worked the scene and investigators began their probe.
As reported by WCNC, MEDIC confirmed the victim was transported with life-threatening injuries and Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police have opened an investigation. The station noted that officials had not released the victim’s identity and no arrests were reported in its update. Detectives were seen canvassing the neighborhood and speaking with possible witnesses, according to the report.

The 6000 block of Pineburr Road has seen multiple serious incidents in recent years. WCCB reported a fatal shooting there in February 2023, and WSOC reported an intentionally set apartment fire in November 2025, underscoring recurring public-safety calls in the area.
