How neighbors can help investigators
Detectives had not yet provided any suspect description or said how many people were hurt as they continued to process the scene. The City of Phoenix lists the police non-emergency line at 602-262-6151, along with the Silent Witness tip line at 480-WITNESS, for members of the public who might have information about violent crimes.
Recent flare-ups along south Phoenix corridors
The intersection sits in a stretch of south Phoenix that has been rattled by multiple late-night shootings this year, including a February park confrontation that left a man dead and an officer wounded (see park gun struggle) and a March skate-park shooting that injured a man. Local coverage shows detectives have repeatedly urged residents to share video and tips in recent investigations along Broadway and nearby avenues.
In this latest case, detectives asked anyone with video or eyewitness information to step forward and said they plan to review available surveillance and cellphone footage as the probe continues. For anonymous tips and possible rewards, the Silent Witness program is available at Silent Witness.
