He was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition, and the case is still under active investigation.
What deputies say
The Sheriff’s Office told FOX 35 Orlando that deputies located a man in his 30s at the scene, but it was not immediately clear what led up to the gunfire. Investigators have not released any suspect information or descriptions, and deputies say the investigation is ongoing.
Lee Road has seen recent law-enforcement activity
This stretch of Lee Road has not been quiet lately. In November, it was the focus of a major SWAT operation that ended in an officer-involved shooting and left a suspect dead inside a tattoo shop, as detailed in a SWAT raid that ended in an officer-involved shooting. That earlier incident highlights how the corridor mixes residential spots, businesses, and heavy traffic. Authorities have given no public indication that the two cases are connected.
Investigation status
Officials have not released any motive or suspect details, and the Sheriff’s Office told FOX 35 Orlando that the case remains under active investigation. No arrests have been reported. This story will be updated as authorities release more information.
