Witnesses described a wall of flashing lights and cruisers clogging the roadway while sections of the street were shut down and drivers tried to find a way around the chaos. By late Tuesday, officials were saying very little about exactly what had happened.
According to WSYX, Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 9 President Brian Steel confirmed that officers were involved in the incident but declined to release further details. The station’s report, posted at 10:44 p.m., includes a small set of photos showing marked cruisers lined up along Schrock and officers working behind the tape as the scene remained locked down.

Neighbors reported seeing a large number of police vehicles and lane closures near the bridge over Alum Creek, with traffic backing up as officers secured the area. Some drivers found themselves stuck in delays while investigators worked the scene.
