Milford police shared surveillance video of the crash on Facebook. The clip appears to show the Audi reversing into a parked black pickup, jumping a grassy island and then colliding with a stone wall across from the Nouria at 97 Cedar Street.

Charges And Arrest Details

Officers arrested Marsden, of Holliston, and charged him with operating under the influence of liquor along with leaving the scene of property damage, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, resisting arrest, assault and battery on a police officer, disturbing the peace, disorderly conduct and malicious destruction of property over $1,200, according to Patch.

Officer Struck, Chief Reacts

While in custody, police say Marsden struck one officer and threatened to sexually assault another, which led to the assault and battery on a police officer charge, Patch reported.

"I reviewed the video of the incident, and it is a shock that no one was injured," Milford Police Chief Robert Tusino said, according to Patch.

Legal Implications

Assault and battery on public employees in Massachusetts carries enhanced penalties, including mandatory minimum sentences and fines, according to the Massachusetts Legislature. Operating under the influence is prosecuted under Chapter 90, Section 24 and can bring fines, license suspensions and possible jail time depending on prior convictions and the circumstances of the case, according to Mass.gov.

Milford police say Marsden was taken into custody on April 27 and remains charged pending court proceedings. He is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
