Detectives in Charlotte’s North Tryon Division opened a homicide investigation Wednesday after an incident that brought crime scene tape and investigators to the area, but officials are saying very little so far. Police have not released the victim’s name or identified any suspects as they work to collect evidence and interview witnesses.

The CMPD newsroom lists the Homicide Unit tip line as 704-432-8477 (TIPS) and urges anyone with video or information to call that number or to leave an anonymous tip with Charlotte Crime Stoppers.

Background: North Tryon Has Seen Recent Probes
The North Tryon Division has already been on edge after a string of recent homicide investigations. In February, a mystery killing shakes North Tryon case sent detectives canvassing nearby streets for witnesses and surveillance footage. In a separate Feb. 10 release, CMPD identified the 100 block of Atando Avenue as the location of that earlier investigation.
This article will be updated when CMPD releases additional details through its public affairs channels. Anyone who might have seen or recorded something useful to investigators is urged to contact the Homicide Unit tip line or submit an anonymous tip to Charlotte Crime Stoppers.
