Three North Texas firefighters were arrested last week and booked into the Grayson County Jail after a Texas Rangers investigation into allegations that they sexually abused a juvenile who had been a junior firefighter in 2022. The victim told investigators the abuse stretched across 2022 and into 2023, and court affidavits say the incidents took place at the Howe Volunteer Fire Department and other locations. The arrests, made last Thursday, have left several small North Texas towns where the men once served, trying to process the scope and seriousness of the accusations.
What investigators allege
According to FOX 4, the victim, then a junior firefighter at Howe, told investigators the abuse began in 2022 and included roughly 30 incidents. An affidavit quoted by FOX 4 alleges that 33-year-old David Perez-Glass forced the victim to have sex at the Howe station between January 2022 and January 2023 and threatened to harm her and her family if she reported it. Authorities say the complaint first came to Howe police in May 2025 and was later referred to the Texas Rangers and the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Confessions and charges
After the Rangers' probe, two men, David Perez-Glass and Dalton McCaslin, were arrested on three counts each of sexual assault of a child, while a third, Joshua Ryals, was charged with two counts of indecency with a child involving sexual contact, according to reporting by KXII/KTRE. Court records cited by that outlet say McCaslin told investigators he had sex with the victim when she was 17 at his apartment in December 2022, and that Ryals admitted to inappropriate touching while alone with the victim at the Howe station. All three were booked into the Grayson County Jail last Thursday.
Where the suspects worked
The men had worked at a handful of departments across North Texas. Perez-Glass was employed by the Irving Fire Department since 2023 and is now on administrative leave, McCaslin had been with the Allen Fire Department and was placed on administrative leave last Wednesday, and Ryals had recently resigned from the Melissa Fire Department, FOX 4 reports. Local rosters and records from the Texas Commission on Fire Protection show prior volunteer stints for the men at Howe, Van Alstyne and Prosper. Those employers have said they are cooperating with investigators while the criminal case proceeds.
Officials and community response
Cities north of Dallas have issued formal statements saying they are cooperating with investigators and cannot provide further details while the probe continues, KXII/KTRE reports. The City of Howe's statement said leaders contacted the Texas Rangers early so an independent investigation could proceed and that the city will preserve the integrity of the probe while protecting privacy. Officials with Allen, Melissa and Van Alstyne have reiterated they will defer to law enforcement while the case moves forward.
What's next
Prosecutors have not released court dates publicly, and officials say details are limited to protect the juvenile victim and the integrity of the investigation. The Texas Rangers and the Department of Public Safety conducted the investigation and Grayson County authorities handled the March 26 bookings. Further steps will depend on filings by local prosecutors and any grand-jury action. Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact law enforcement through the official channels published by the investigating agencies.
