Segnatore, the Humboldt Park Italian spot beloved for its house-made pastas and signature Tuscan roast chicken, is calling it quits in mid-May after five years in the neighborhood. The Orbit Group-owned restaurant plans to serve its final meals on May 16, 2026, closing a run that began in 2021 and taking with it one of the area’s more reliable dinner and weekend brunch options.
As reported by Block Club Chicago, Segnatore announced the shutdown on social media and confirmed its last day will be May 16, 2026. Block Club published its story on April 8, 2026.
Segnatore opened in 2021 in the former Café Marie-Jeanne space as a neighborhood Italian restaurant from the Orbit Group, according to Eater Chicago. The group later brought the neighboring California Clipper back to life and folded Segnatore into a small local portfolio that also includes Good Measure.
Menu and team
Segnatore built its reputation on house-made breads and pastas and a rotating menu that has included roast chicken and seasonal small plates. The restaurant’s site notes that much of its bread and pasta is made in-house, and also lists its address and hours. Green City Market names Justin Moser among the kitchen staff, and Block Club Chicago credited Siren Betty Design with Segnatore’s interior when it opened.
Neighborhood reaction and local context
After word got out, neighbors and diners took to social channels and neighborhood forums, with regulars lamenting the loss of a steady, low-key spot for dinner and brunch. The closure lands in the middle of a broader run of small-to-mid-sized Chicago restaurant shutdowns this year, a pattern tracked by Eater Chicago.
Segnatore’s last service is scheduled for May 16, 2026, and the restaurant’s website lists hours and reservation details for the remaining dates. For the most current information, visit Segnatore.
