Downtown Powell just picked up a serious dose of island escape with the public debut of Lani Rooftop Lounge, a Hawaiian-inspired cocktail bar perched on top of the new COhatch campus. The three-story space blends indoor and outdoor seating, wide open views, and a menu built around small plates and seasonal cocktails. Lani is set up for both walk-in guests and private events, with a few extra perks reserved for COhatch members.
The Powell COhatch campus covers about 14,000 square feet across two restored buildings, combining private offices, coworking areas, and a separate member house, with the rooftop lounge sitting at the top of the project, according to PR Newswire.
Lani quietly opened its doors to the public on April 9 and is now taking reservations as it ramps up regular service this month. The launch timeline and reservation details were first reported by Columbus Business First.
What’s on the Menu
The Lani menu leans into globally inspired small plates and tropical-forward drinks. Guests will find dishes such as tuna tartare, wagyu meatballs, and 24-hour pork belly, alongside cocktails like a Chi-Chi Colada and an Ube Margarita. The lounge’s website highlights a tight, shareable lineup and a cocktail program that emphasizes fresh flavors and presentation. The full food and drink offerings are listed on Lani Rooftop Lounge.
What It Means for Downtown Powell
City officials are treating the COhatch campus and its rooftop bar as a key win for Powell’s walkable downtown. In a news release on the city’s website, Powell City Manager Andrew White said that “COhatch has been instrumental in bringing new energy and renewed purpose to Powell’s downtown core,” and city leaders credit the private investment with helping set the stage for public projects such as the planned Scioto Street extension and additional parking, according to the City of Powell. Officials also point to the Middlebury Member House and the campus event spaces as potential homes for weddings, workshops, and other community gatherings.
How to Go
Lani sits on the third floor at 50 E. Olentangy St. in downtown Powell. The lounge lists current hours and reservation options on its website, accepts bookings through OpenTable, and updates availability online. COhatch members receive membership benefits at the Powell location, along with priority booking at Lani, with membership and event-rental details available from COhatch and the lounge’s site. Walk-ins are welcome when space allows, and the online reservation page offers the latest on open tables.
