A routine Friday afternoon in Fayetteville ended in gunfire when a man was shot and killed on Jacklyn Road, according to authorities. Deputies with the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office were called around 3:05 p.m. to the 100 block of Jacklyn Road, where they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Officials have not yet released his identity.
According to ABC11, the Sheriff's Office said the shooting does not appear to be a random act, and investigators do not believe there is an ongoing threat to the public.
