Deputies in Lancaster County are working to piece together what happened after a Friday afternoon shooting in the town of Kershaw left a man seriously injured and flown to a hospital. The victim was found outside a home and taken from the scene by air ambulance for treatment. Authorities say no arrests have been made and investigators are asking anyone with information to come forward.

Deputies told WBTV the shooting happened at about 3:30 p.m. on Friday, April 3, when a 28-year-old man was shot in the leg outside a house on East Stevens Drive, and he was airlifted to a hospital for treatment. Local station WCNC described the call as coming just after 4 p.m. and said the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene and collected evidence.

"We're very early in this investigation," Sheriff Barry Faile told WBTV, urging anyone with information to reach out.
