Buffalo Wild Wings GO has officially landed in Lake Zurich, giving local wing fans a new grab-and-go option at North Lake Commons. The compact shop at 840 W. Route 22 opened Thursday, built around app ordering, contactless pickup lockers, and a trimmed-down menu geared toward fast handoffs instead of lingering over a game. Franchise leaders say the store will employ roughly 15 people and concentrate on wings, sandwiches and sides.
Local Franchisee Widens Suburban Footprint
The new 1,300-square-foot location is owned by Zurich Wings LLC franchisee Nilesh Patel, who is adding Lake Zurich to his growing run of suburban BWW GO outlets, according to the Chicago Business Journal. The outlet reports that Patel operates multiple GO stores across the northwest suburbs and plans to staff the Lake Zurich shop with about 15 team members. The opening continues a pattern of smaller-format launches the franchisee has leaned into over the past few years.
What The GO Format Offers
BWW GO is the takeout-and-delivery version of the chain’s familiar sports bars, with units typically running between about 900 and 1,600 square feet and featuring heated pickup lockers and digital menu boards, according to the brand. Parent company Inspire Brands says the concept allows Buffalo Wild Wings to move into neighborhoods and real estate footprints that would not support a full-size sports bar while keeping the chain’s sauces and core items available through app and web ordering. The format has been rolling out since its 2020 debut as off-premise sales have grown across the industry.
Opening Promotions, Hours And Hiring
To kick things off, the first 50 guests in line (18 and older) are eligible for "free wings for a year," while all other opening-day visitors receive a $5-off-$25 voucher good through June 30, according to the Daily Herald. The paper notes that the Lake Zurich store is scheduled to operate daily from 10:30 a.m. to midnight, and managers are hiring for roughly 15 front- and back-of-house roles. Those perks line up with giveaways used at other recent BWW GO debuts in the region.
Why It Matters For Lake Zurich
Smaller, tech-focused formats like this let national brands slide into suburban centers with lower rents and faster turnarounds, a strategy owners say is a response to changing customer habits, according to the Chicago Business Journal. Patel said the setup helps the company "meet that demand" for convenience as digital ordering continues to grow. For Lake Zurich residents, it adds one more quick-order option to a lineup that already includes long-running local wing spots.
