According to News 12, the crash happened at about 11:42 p.m. Tuesday and involved two vehicles on Elizabeth Avenue. A police spokesperson told the outlet that the driver of one vehicle died, while the other car carried two people who stayed at the scene after the impact.

Elizabeth Avenue cuts through the city's downtown, just a few blocks from both the Elizabeth Police Department and the Union County Courthouse.
