Two people were hurt in a late-night shooting just off the University of Central Florida campus early Wednesday, turning a familiar student corridor into an active crime scene shortly after midnight.
The gunfire broke out around 12:30 a.m. along Aristotle Avenue, and both victims were taken to a hospital for treatment. Their conditions were not immediately released.
According to FOX 35 Orlando, deputies said the shooting happened in the 3600 block of Aristotle Avenue, an area packed with apartments and some off-campus fraternity houses. As of early Wednesday, investigators were still working the scene, and no additional details had been released.
Aristotle Avenue's troubled history
Aristotle Avenue is no stranger to serious violence near campus. In 2021, deputies investigated a fatal shooting in the 3500 block that left a 17-year-old dead, as reported by ClickOrlando. That history has added to long-running worries among neighbors and students living in nearby rentals and apartments.
