A man was shot and killed Sunday in the parking lot of The Jerk Shack in Brunswick, according to police. Officers were already on scene clearing the restaurant's lot when they heard a single gunshot. They found the man with a gunshot wound, and he was pronounced dead where he fell. The restaurant had closed for the night before the shooting, and officers detained at least one person at the scene.

According to a police news release reported by First Coast News, officers were at The Jerk Shack at 4420 Altama Avenue when they heard the gunshot while clearing the parking lot. The release states that the man suffered a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene, and that one suspect was taken into custody while investigators processed the area.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation assisted with processing the scene, and police thanked Glynn County agencies for their response and support.
The release also notes that police will not release the victim's identity until next of kin is notified.
