Hide, the cocktail-forward restaurant and rooftop that helped anchor a busy stretch of Lower Greenville, has gone dark, leaving a suddenly quiet storefront on Greenville Avenue. The two-story spot, known for its craft cocktails and weatherized rooftop, no longer shows regular operating hours and its once-bustling roof now sits empty. For neighbors who treated it as a go-to hangout, the shutdown is one more hit to a nightlife strip that has already seen several favorites bow out.
According to the Dallas Observer, Hide's doors were recently found closed, and the outlet reports it has reached out to both the bar and the building's landlords but has not yet heard back. That coverage also includes an Instagram image showing the storefront sitting dark.
Hide first opened in Deep Ellum in 2017, then closed in 2020 during the pandemic, before quietly relaunching on Greenville Avenue in August 2022, as reported by The Dallas Morning News. The paper noted the move to 1928 Greenville Ave. and highlighted that the new location brought an expanded rooftop and menu along with it.
On its own site, Hide lists its address as 1928 Greenville Ave. and describes a weatherized rooftop patio with views of downtown, along with posted hours and menus that were available before the recent shuttering. As of now, the venue's site does not carry any public statement about the closure.
Lower Greenville's Recent Wave of Closures
Hide's shutdown arrives in the middle of what local coverage has dubbed a "lease cliff," a mix of rising rents plus supply and labor pressures that has pushed several independent operators off the avenue. Its exit follows recent nearby closures such as Swizzle and Meyboom Brasserie. The Dallas Observer has traced how those economic forces are reshaping the bar and restaurant landscape along Lower Greenville.
What’s Next for the Space
So far, there has been no public announcement about a new tenant for the address, and the storefront does not display any signage teasing a replacement operator. This story will be updated if the owners or landlords release a statement or confirm future plans for the space.
