A Carrollton noodle shop known for its build-your-own rice noodle bowls has planted its second flag in Plano, giving North Texas diners another reason to skip the drive south. Yo! Bowl, a family-owned restaurant specializing in authentic Chinese rice noodle bowls, quietly opened its new Plano location this summer at 4701 West Park Boulevard, Suite 105.
The restaurant held a soft opening on July 28, according to Community Impact, before following up with an official grand opening celebration from last Friday through Sunday. For that weekend, Yo! Bowl teamed up with the local parenting network Plano Moms to offer free kids' menu meals with the purchase of an adult bowl, a promotion detailed by Plano Moms. The Plano expansion follows Yo! Bowl's original 2024 debut in Carrollton, and as FOX 4 News Dallas-Fort Worth reports, the shop shares details about its new Plano location as a natural next step for the family-owned brand.
Why Plano Made Sense for Expansion
Founder Xinran Xu, who was born in China and spent 15 years growing up in Japan, built the Yo! Bowl concept around mifen, a Southwest Chinese rice noodle he felt never got the same recognition in the U.S. as ramen or pho, according to entity background reported by Local Profile. Xu decided to expand into Plano after noticing that a significant chunk of the Carrollton flagship's regulars were already making the trip in from Plano, Frisco, and the broader Collin County area, the same outlet reported in a separate account of the restaurant's local context.
That pattern of suburban diners driving into Carrollton before a restaurant eventually follows them out isn't unique to Yo! Bowl. Busan soup specialist Jinsol Gukbap made a similar jump into Plano in 2026 after first building a following in Carrollton, a trend Hoodline has tracked as part of a broader corridor where Carrollton's dense Asian dining scene acts as an incubator for concepts that later expand into Plano.
What's on the Menu
At the center of Yo! Bowl's menu is mifen itself, a naturally gluten-free rice noodle served either dry-tossed or in slow-simmered broths, with diners customizing their own proteins, vegetables, and spice levels. Beyond the noodle bowls, the menu also includes house-made yogurt desserts, appetizers like cucumber salad and scallion pancakes, dumplings, and rice plates, according to Community Impact's rundown of the Plano location's offerings.
The new Plano storefront runs daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., with dine-in service alongside carryout available until 8:30 p.m., per Yo! Bowl's own location listing. The opening also lands amid a broader wave of specialty noodle openings reshaping West Plano and Collin County, a stretch that has drawn international names like Fukuoka-based Kouchan Ramen, as Hoodline has reported.

Plano's dining economy has long shown a seasonal rhythm, with local restaurant transaction data showing spending in the area typically surges in spring and early summer, averaging more than 40,000 daily restaurant transactions during peak months, according to prior Hoodline reporting on the city's dining patterns. Whether Yo!
