Last Tuesday at Sky River Casino in Elk Grove, one very fortunate player turned a quick visit into a life-changing haul, hitting a progressive jackpot worth $216,895 after playing for roughly 15 minutes, the casino said. The windfall landed on a midi baccarat electronic table when the AGS “Bonus Spin Xtreme Red Dragon Triple Diamond” progressive hit, instantly turning a short session into a six-figure score.
According to The Sacramento Bee, Sky River officials said the winner triggered the progressive after about 15 minutes at the machine. Sky River President Michael J. Facenda told the paper, “These are exactly the kind of moments that remind us why people love coming to Sky River.”
Sky River at a glance
The property, which opened in 2022, bills itself as roughly 100,000 square feet with more than 2,500 slot machines, over 80 table games and 18 restaurants and bars, according to Sky River Casino. The casino is owned by the Wilton Rancheria in partnership with Boyd Gaming, which manages the property and its promotions.
A run of big payouts
The $216,895 hit is the latest in a string of hefty jackpots at the Elk Grove venue. Casino representatives confirmed a separate $366,543.33 payout on March 29, and the property has publicized other six- and seven-figure winners in recent months. GamblingNews reported the March 29 payout, and earlier local coverage noted a $700,503.60 Triple Diamond progressive win at Sky River in February. That record $700K jackpot helped cement the casino’s growing reputation as a hot spot for progressives.
Sky River and public health groups emphasize responsible play. If gambling starts to cause harm, people can contact the National Problem Gambling Helpline at 1-800-522-4700 for support and referrals.
