Denver-based Distributor Wire & Cable has planted a massive new flag in the Houston area, opening a 169,000-square-foot cable distribution center in Missouri City on Thursday and putting specialty inventory just minutes from some of the Gulf Coast’s biggest energy and infrastructure projects. The facility is the company’s largest investment to date and is designed to speed job-site deliveries with cut-to-length orders, will-call pickup and same-day shipping.

The Missouri City center is loaded with high-demand products such as VNTC and XLP/PVC tray cable, instrumentation cable, copper building wire, fire-alarm and sound/security cable, Belden-equivalent lines and portable cords, according to Distributor Wire & Cable. The site also promotes cut-to-length services, no cut or reel charges, no order minimums and will-call pickup for in-stock items so local projects are less likely to get stuck waiting on specialty cable.

"We came to give this market a truly exceptional experience with deep inventory, cut to length capabilities, no minimums, and same day shipping," CEO Travis Williams said in a company release. Distributor Wire & Cable said the Houston CDC became fully operational on Thursday.

Houston continues to draw logistics and industrial users, with market reports showing construction and leasing activity holding strong across the region. A Colliers Q1 2026 report noted that new supply narrowly outpaced absorption while construction activity increased, underscoring why distributors are racing to add local capacity.

Local reporting notes the center opened Thursday and lists the address as 16152 Fondren Road in Missouri City, putting same-day will-call pickup and shorter lead times within easier reach for Gulf Coast work, according to Community Impact. The outlet also reports the Missouri City facility is the company’s seventh warehouse nationwide.
