Texas authorities have put 39-year-old Christopher Domingo Carrillo on the state's 10 Most Wanted Sex Offenders list, turning up the heat on a search that now spans multiple Panhandle counties. Carrillo is wanted on charges that include failure to comply with sex-offender registration requirements, along with multiple counts of indecency with a child and sexual assault of a child, and officials say he should be considered armed and dangerous. Texas Crime Stoppers is offering up to $5,000 for information that leads to his arrest, and investigators say he was last seen in Amarillo.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, Carrillo is wanted on two counts of indecency with a child by sexual contact and five counts of sexual assault of a child. The DPS listing notes that a Potter County warrant for failure to comply with sex-offender registration was issued Nov. 17, 2025, and that additional Deaf Smith County warrants were issued Dec. 1, 2025. The agency lists his height at about 6 feet 2 inches, his weight at roughly 165 pounds, and cites a July 2018 indecency conviction, adding in all caps that he "should be considered ARMED and DANGEROUS." Officials clearly want the public to take that warning seriously.

As reported by KFDA, Carrillo has ties to Amarillo and Hereford, and Amarillo was the last place he was seen. The station notes that investigators are following up on local leads and reviewing surveillance footage while they chase down tips from the public.

How to tip and reward

Texas DPS has pushed the alert out on X and is urging anyone with information to contact Texas Crime Stoppers. Tipsters can call the Texas Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-252-TIPS, submit a web tip through the Texas 10 Most Wanted site, or use the DPS mobile app. The agency says eligible tips can qualify for a reward of up to $5,000.

Legal context

Failure to comply with sex-offender registration is a criminal offense under Chapter 62 of the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure, and penalties can increase depending on the person's reporting obligations and any prior convictions. As outlined in Chapter 62 of the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure, prosecutors may seek state-jail or third-degree felony charges based on the offender's registration schedule and the facts of the alleged violation.

Authorities are warning residents not to approach Carrillo if they spot him. Instead, they want people to report any credible sightings or leads to Crime Stoppers or local law enforcement. DPS and local investigators say anonymous tips, sent through the approved channels, are their best shot at getting him into custody quickly.
