The outlet notes that the pop-up is designed so customers can sit down with staff to plan rooms and then use the space as a pick-up hub for online purchases. IKEA has not yet pinned down an exact opening date.

The Auburn Hills pop-up plugs into IKEA U.S.'s broader move toward smaller "Plan and order" points that mix design consultations with convenient pick-up options, according to the company.
