Police activity took over a Miramar apartment complex early Friday as officers taped off large sections of the property and dug into reports of a possible shooting.

The investigation centered on 10750 N Preserve Way, where multiple areas were blocked and crime-scene vehicles were parked deeper inside the complex. Detectives were still combing the scene, and Miramar police had not yet said whether anyone was hurt.

According to CBS News Miami, the yellow tape stretched across several parts of the development just south of Pembroke Road between Hiatus Road and Palm Avenue. Officers focused their work toward the rear of the property, where video showed crime-scene trucks, a strong police presence and limited access for anyone trying to get through. CBS reported that early Friday the department had not confirmed additional details as investigators processed the area.

What Officials Are Saying

By early Friday, the Miramar Police Department had not released any official word on injuries, possible suspects or what led up to the reported shooting. The department lists its Public Information Office as the point of contact for formal statements, and directs media and public inquiries through the Miramar Police Department.

Neighbors Watched From Balconies

Residents said the sudden influx of officers and crime-scene tape upended their morning routines and kept plenty of people peeking out from doorways and balconies. One neighbor told CBS News Miami, "That's a big concern. I mean, I hope everything gets resolved." Others said getting out for work turned into a headache as officers restricted access to parts of the complex.
