
Morning gunfire rattled a small northwest Charlotte street on Tuesday, leaving one person hurt and a tight-knit block briefly shut down as officers and medics moved in.
The shooting unfolded around 9 a.m. on Linda Vista Lane, a short cut off Sunset Road. First responders quickly sealed off the area while investigators got to work. MEDIC said the victim's injuries were not life threatening.
Police, MEDIC On Scene
According to WSOC, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police lined the neighborhood street as detectives documented the scene and MEDIC treated the wounded person before taking them to a hospital.
Crews were on scene at about 9 a.m., and investigators were still trying to sort out what sparked the gunfire, the station reported.
Street Has Seen Past Violence
The short block has dealt with serious violence before. In 2019, WBTV reported a deadly shooting on the 5800 block of Linda Vista Lane that brought homicide detectives to the scene and highlighted long-running safety concerns among nearby residents.
Investigation Ongoing
WSOC reported that Channel 9 asked whether officers were actively searching for a suspect, but CMPD has not yet released additional information.
