A Lenoir woman died Wednesday morning after her SUV ran off northbound Interstate 77 and hit trees near mile marker 61 in Iredell County, according to state troopers. Authorities identified the driver as 30-year-old Nicky Cherie Farrow of Lenoir. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to WCNC, the crash happened around 8:38 a.m. when a 2015 GMC Yukon traveling north on I-77 left the roadway to the right and struck several trees near mile marker 61.
