North Scottsdale is getting a high-octane mashup of a medical clinic and a gym this summer, as HonorHealth prepares to open a hybrid medical fitness center and physical-therapy hub at its Pima Center campus in August 2026. The new HonorHealth Medical Fitness facility will take up about 40,000 square feet inside a roughly 100,000-square-foot ambulatory building, combining physician-guided programs with onsite rehabilitation and specialty care aimed at recovery and chronic-condition prevention. Membership presales began in April 2026, according to AZ Big Media.
HonorHealth announced the project this week, with local business coverage reporting the planned August 2026 opening and early membership campaign that kicked off in April, as detailed by AZ Big Media.
What’s inside the 40,000-square-foot gym
The membership-based center is designed to feel like a full-service gym that happens to sit in the middle of a medical campus. Plans call for a large exercise floor with advanced cardio and strength equipment, dedicated group fitness studios, a full free-weight area and an indoor walking and jogging track. Aquatics will include a heated 25-yard lap pool and a 93°F therapy pool, plus a whirlpool hot tub, steam room and sauna. Outside, members will find a turf training area for functional workouts.
Indoors, a multi-use gymnasium will be lined for basketball, volleyball and pickleball, and families will have access to an onsite Kids Club and scheduled family nights, according to HonorHealth.
Clinically integrated programming
HonorHealth says the new facility is built around physician-guided, clinically integrated programs that connect directly with its rehabilitation and specialty care teams. The idea is to support patients and members across the spectrum, from post-injury recovery and performance training to long-term prevention of chronic disease.
“HonorHealth Medical Fitness is more than a gym membership,” David Carfagno, D.O., the facility’s medical director, said in the announcement, as reported by AZ Big Media.
Part of a broader trend
Medically integrated fitness centers like this one are increasingly popular with health systems that want to bridge the gap between rehab, chronic-disease management and everyday community wellness. The model pairs clinical oversight with exercise, nutrition and education, according to the Medical Fitness Association.
Health systems such as Cleveland Clinic already operate comparable medically guided fitness programs, according to Cleveland Clinic.
Membership, pricing and next steps
On its signup page, HonorHealth lists individual membership rates starting at $70 per month on a 12-month prepaid plan or $75 on a month-to-month plan. The first 500 people who pre-register are eligible for a waived enrollment fee, according to HonorHealth.
Local coverage of the announcement is available from KTAR News, and HonorHealth says interested residents can pre-register online ahead of the planned August opening.
