Maman, the New York-born bakery known for its nutty chocolate-chip cookie and toile-clad cafés, is eyeing Plano for its next move. The company has filed paperwork for a new outpost at 7200 Bishop Road, Suite D-11, with the planned space clocking in at roughly 3,102 square feet. The filing lists construction tentatively starting June 7 and wrapping on December 20. If that schedule sticks, Plano would become the latest stop in Maman’s fast expansion across the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
As reported by WhatNow, paperwork filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation describes the Plano buildout as including "new walls, finishes, kitchen, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing." That filing also lays out a construction window that runs through the summer and into the end of the year.
Maman's rapid DFW push
Maman made its Texas debut late last year at The Plaza at Preston Center, according to People Newspapers, and local coverage shows the brand quickly growing its footprint across the metro. Developers and retail trackers have pointed to several Dallas-area opportunities as Maman lines up multiple shops in distinct neighborhoods.
State filings show multiple Dallas projects
Public construction records back up the expansion: the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation lists a tenant finish-out for a Maman at Casa Linda Plaza (1152 N Buckner Blvd) with work scheduled from April through November 2026. Another TDLR entry records a Design District finish-out at 1444 Oak Lawn Ave with a projected May through November 2026 timeline. Those state filings sit alongside the Preston Center project that marked Maman’s Texas debut and together provide a paper trail for the brand’s DFW rollout.
What to expect inside
Maman’s website says each café is designed to reflect the unique character of the neighborhood it’s in, calling out rustic exposed brick, toile wallpaper, and a signature pastry case. On the menu, regulars can expect the usual lineup of croissants, kouign-amann, and the Nutty Chocolate-Chip Cookie, plus the occasional market-specific item the brand has used in Dallas to localize its offerings.
Timeline and next steps
The planned Plano storefront would sit inside The Shops at Legacy, a long-standing retail and dining cluster north of the Dallas North Tollway, per Visit Plano. Public filings lay out projected dates, but permits, inspections, and construction timelines often shift. For now, the Plano project sits on the state’s books while everyone waits on the next step: an official announcement or a firm opening date.
