Interruption Public House & Brewery is finally on the verge of trading its nomadic beer life for a permanent barstool in O'Fallon. After years of one-off releases, the crew is dialing in the opening details for a brick-and-mortar taproom at 330 Sonderen Street, in the former Good News Brewing space. The partners say they are locking in the beer lineup, hiring staff and checking off the last construction to-dos while they wait on one final permit, with soft openings targeted for May. The plan is a compact, beer-forward hangout with a tight menu of straightforward, crowd-pleasing bar food.
As reported by St. Louis Magazine, co-owner Donnie Cochran said, "We’re so mentally ready to open," adding that the team expects to kick off soft openings in May once that remaining permit lands. The outlet notes the taproom will pour from 10 taps, with seven of those dedicated to Interruption’s own beers alongside a few familiar standards. Early brews in the queue include Good Karma, Marky Mark and the Hazy Bunch, Blended Dimension and Java the Nut. Since many Interruption beers have only appeared in tiny runs so far, fans should expect the first taplist to change quickly as small batches sell through.
From Garage Batches To A Proper Taproom
Interruption’s story started in 2018 with a humble homebrew kit and a beer that went on to win a Good News Brewing homebrew contest, according to Drink314. That win opened the door to regular single-tap releases on a one-barrel system, a slow-and-steady approach that built a loyal local following even without a permanent home. Partners Donnie Cochran and Matt Fair say the move into a dedicated space came naturally out of those relationships. The new taproom is designed to broaden what regulars have already tasted on draft while hanging on to the experimental mindset that defined the brewery’s early days.
Food, Taps And The Vibe
The owners are keeping the food program intentionally low-frills and beer-friendly. Diners can expect wood-fired pizza, sandwiches such as prime rib and pastrami, plus bar staples like wings and toasted ravioli, all meant to support the beer rather than compete with it, St. Louis Magazine reports. For anyone not in a beer mood, the taproom will also offer a cider and a build-it-your-way seltzer option. Partners Jen Cochran and Laura Meyer describe what they do as "story-driven brewing," with recipes pulled from family moments and shared traditions that regulars can sip their way through.
When To Go And How To Follow Progress
Renovations and staff training are underway, and the owners say they will share construction check-ins and opening news through the brewery’s website and social channels. Reporting from earlier this winter noted that Interruption will step into the former Good News Brewing space after that operation moved out at the end of 2025. Sauce Magazine reported that the partners planned to take over the site on Jan. 1, 2026, following Good News Brewing’s Dec. 31, 2025 departure, and the outlet says updates, beer previews and an origin-story series will roll out as opening day gets closer. For now, local beer fans should keep an eye on Interruption’s online channels for word on soft openings and early pop-up pours around O'Fallon.
