Jacksonville International Airport is getting a new mid-sized food hall called Oak & Ocean as part of its Concourse B expansion, giving hungry travelers a fresh place to refuel between flights. The roughly 5,400-square-foot concession hub is slated to debut alongside the new concourse in December, mixing national quick-service names with Jacksonville-area favorites.
In a press release from Avolta, the company said it has landed a 15-year contract to develop and operate a 500-square-meter food hall at JAX that will carry the Oak & Ocean Food Hall brand. Avolta said the lineup will blend Northeast Florida concepts with select national chains, with the overall setup geared toward fast, convenient service for travelers on the move.
Who's on the menu
Airport renderings and a recent media tour show spaces earmarked for V Pizza, Panda Express, Chick‑fil‑A and Willie Jewell’s Old School Bar‑B‑Q, and Cantina Louie has locked in plans for an airport outpost. The tenant mix was reported by The JAXson Magazine.
Concourse B timeline and layout
Concourse B is set to add six gates and roughly 165,000 square feet of new terminal space, and airport officials say the expansion remains on track for a December opening. According to Jax Today, the concourse will move passengers through a three-level layout, while Avolta’s North America CEO Steve Johnson has called the contract award “a strong example of local partnership” in the company’s announcement, per Avolta.
Tech-forward ordering
Coverage of the concession plans says Oak & Ocean will lean into frictionless service, with self-service kiosks, dynamic digital menu boards, QR-code ordering and pay-at-table options all aimed at keeping lines moving and contact points to a minimum. The tech setup was detailed by What Now Jacksonville.
Local lift for hometown brands
Airport leaders and the concessionaire have repeatedly emphasized a balance of national name recognition and local flavor, a strategy that could give Jacksonville-born concepts a bigger stage in front of transient crowds. Jax Daily Record noted Cantina Louie’s confirmation for the concourse, and local coverage has also pointed to V Pizza as a hometown addition.
Construction in the Concourse B footprint is ongoing, and Oak & Ocean is scheduled to open alongside the new concourse in December 2026. Once the dust clears and vendors are in place, travelers can expect a compact food hall that pairs fast-moving national staples with a dose of Northeast Florida flair.
