A pre-dawn rollover on Interstate 10 turned deadly Sunday after an SUV flipped several times and came to rest in the main lanes, according to San Antonio police.
The crash happened about 2:45 a.m. near the 19100 block of I-10 when a Ford Expedition struck a roadside barrier, rolled multiple times and stopped in the main lanes. The driver was taken to a hospital, where he later died, police said.
According to WOAI, San Antonio police reported that the SUV hit the barrier on the right side before rolling over. The department did not immediately release the driver’s name, and the preliminary report did not list a cause for the wreck.

The stretch of I-10 through Bexar County has seen multiple major wrecks this year. The San Antonio Express-News reported a fatal three-vehicle crash that shut down lanes near The Rim in February, and KSAT documented a deadly November rollover tied to alleged street racing.
