Two people were found dead on a Pueblo street early Saturday in what investigators are calling an alleged double homicide, and the night only grew more disturbing from there. Officers responding just after 1 a.m. to the 1200 block of East Fourth Street found one person inside a vehicle and another lying in the roadway, police said.

Dispatchers sent officers to the area after 911 callers reported gunfire around 1 a.m. When officers arrived on the 1200 block of East Fourth Street, they discovered one person in the street and another in a vehicle, according to KKTV. KKTV reports that around the same time, deputies were alerted to a separate death in Pueblo West, and investigators sealed off both scenes while they began processing evidence.
Suspect found in Pueblo West
"Preliminary information is that this deceased male is the suspect from the double homicide," Pueblo police said in a statement, according to Denver7. Denver7 reports the man died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. Investigators have not publicly identified him while the Pueblo County Coroner works to notify next of kin, and detectives say they are continuing interviews and collecting evidence at both locations.

The deaths mark Pueblo's fourth and fifth homicides so far this year, up from two by the same date in 2025, The Pueblo Chieftain reports. The paper notes Pueblo recorded 13 homicides in 2025, and officials say the coroner will release the victims' names after next-of-kin have been notified.
