A Purcell home is at the center of a disturbing sex assault investigation that led to four arrests this week after an Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation probe into allegations involving multiple young victims.
Two parents, Gregory Lindsey and Mitzi Lindsey, along with another adult, Dillon Lindsey, were taken into custody, and a 17-year-old male was also arrested. Authorities say the arrests were made on McClain County District Court warrants that followed a report that a minor was sexually assaulted in March 2024 at the residence.
OSBI special agents served the arrest warrants and report that the case now involves multiple victims and separate allegations, all tied to the same Purcell home. Investigators identified Dillon Lindsey as facing counts that include first-degree rape, two counts of lewd acts with a child under 16, and one count of sodomy with a child under 16. The 17-year-old was booked on a charge of rape by instrumentation. Gregory and Mitzi Lindsey were each charged with failure to report suspected abuse to law enforcement and to the Department of Human Services. OSBI said the operation was a multi-agency effort that included help from the McClain County Sheriff’s Office, the Maysville Police Department and the Norman Police Department, according to OSBI.
Investigative Timeline And Arrests
McClain County District Court signed off on the arrest warrants that were carried out this week, and two of the adults were booked into the McClain County jail in Purcell, according to the McClain County Sheriff’s Office. The 17-year-old suspect was transferred to a juvenile detention facility in Shawnee.
What started as a single report in March 2024 quickly widened, authorities say, as investigators dug in and uncovered additional allegations tied to the same address. The result is a broader case that, for now, continues to unfold behind the scenes as detectives work through interviews and evidence.
Charges And The Law
Many of the counts outlined by investigators fall under some of Oklahoma’s most serious sex-crime statutes. Lewd or indecent proposals or acts involving a person under 16 are prosecuted under 21 O.S. § 1123. Rape and related offenses, including rape by instrumentation, are defined elsewhere in Title 21 of the Oklahoma statutes, which are collected under Title 21.
The Oklahoma Children’s Code also requires that suspected child abuse be reported promptly to law enforcement or the Department of Human Services. Knowingly failing to report can itself be a criminal offense under 10A O.S. § 1-2-101, which is the statute cited in the charges against Gregory and Mitzi Lindsey.
What’s Next
All four of those arrested are presumed innocent, and the charges are accusations that prosecutors must prove in court. Initial appearances for the adults will move forward in McClain County District Court, while juvenile court procedures apply in the case of the 17-year-old.
Investigators say the probe is still active and that local authorities are continuing to follow up on leads, which means more details are likely to surface as the case advances through the courts.
