Two 18-year-olds are facing a long list of charges in Newton County after investigators say they were involved in a pair of late-March drive-by shootings that damaged property but did not injure anyone. Lamarion Holman and Allon Johnson were taken into custody after a traffic stop at the Walmart on Salem Road, according to law enforcement.
Arrests And Evidence Recovered
According to the Newton County Sheriff’s Office, Holman, of Conyers, and Johnson, of Covington, were arrested on April 1 during a traffic stop at the Salem Road Walmart. Investigators say the vehicle involved in the stop had been reported stolen, and a handgun was recovered from the scene. Deputies also executed a search warrant at a Cowan Road residence as part of the investigation, The Covington News reported.
Where The Shootings Happened
Officials say the drive-by shootings were reported on March 24 in two Newton County locations: the area of Heard Lane off Highway 142 and the Settlers Grove Road area. In both cases, property was hit, but no injuries were reported, according to WSB Radio.

Holman is facing six counts of aggravated assault, two counts of drive-by shooting, two counts of possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of a crime, receipt, possession or transport of a firearm by a convicted felon or first offender, and theft by receiving stolen property. Johnson is charged with two counts of aggravated assault, one count of drive-by shooting, one count of possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of a crime, and theft by receiving stolen property.
"The preliminary investigation, conducted by the Newton County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Division, determined that both incidents were connected," the sheriff's office said in a release, as reported by The Covington News.
