
A 26-year-old Green man died after his motorcycle collided with an SUV on South Arlington Road on April 7, 2026. The crash happened around 7:10 p.m. The rider, who was wearing a helmet, was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The Summit County Sheriff's Office is leading the investigation into the collision.
What officials say
According to FOX 8 Cleveland, investigators say the crash involved a 2021 Ford Explorer that was turning left into an apartment complex when the motorcycle, traveling south on South Arlington Road, struck the SUV's passenger side. The impact threw the rider from the bike, the station reported.
Road work and local context
South Arlington Road has already been on the city's radar for safety and congestion issues. City officials told Akron.com that upgrades and resurfacing projects are planned, including widening and turn-lane work on parts of the corridor this year.
