Stateside Live!, the newly rebranded entertainment hub in the South Philadelphia Sports Complex, is set to flip the lights back on next month after roughly a $20 million overhaul, capped by a public grand opening weekend from Friday, May 29 through Sunday, May 31. The renovation stitches together a two-story rooftop lounge, a 5,000-capacity outdoor performance stage with premium seating, a nearly doubled PBR Backyard and new beer garden and cocktail bars, all aimed at turning the plaza into an all-season destination. Operators say the rebuild is designed to deliver immersive indoor and outdoor viewing for sports fans while opening the venue to more concerts, festivals and private events.
What the Expansion Includes
Comcast Spectacor and The Cordish Companies rolled out the plans this week, pitching the project as a major reinvestment in the stadium district that is meant to create a true year-round gathering spot. Dan Hilferty, chairman and CEO of Comcast Spectacor, called the revamped Stateside Live! an “important anchor” for the complex’s future, while Reed Cordish described the expansion as “a new, hospitality-driven experience” for fans and visitors, according to NBC10 Philadelphia.
New Venues and Capacity
The overhaul brings in the AVA Rooftop Bar, a Blue Moon Beer Garden, a Stateside Crush cocktail bar and a reimagined PBR Backyard, plus the Coors Light Stage planted at the center of the plaza. Coverage of the announcement notes that the Coors Light Stage is being built for about 5,000 attendees, with roughly 1,000 premium seats, and will feature upgraded audio, lighting and LED screens for both watch parties and concerts, as reported by Crossing Broad. Long-standing concessions such as Chickies & Petes and Genos Steaks will remain in the mix, alongside new ordering technology and expanded VIP offerings.
Timing and Why It Matters
Ownership is timing the relaunch ahead of what is shaping up to be a packed sports and events calendar in South Philadelphia. Lincoln Financial Field is one of the 2026 FIFA World Cup host venues and is slated for group-stage action and a Round of 16 match, while Citizens Bank Park is set to host the 2026 MLB All-Star Game. Those international and national showcases are expected to funnel heavy foot traffic into the stadium district, and organizers say Stateside Live! is being positioned to capture more of those visitors even on non-game days. Official host-city scheduling is available from FIFA and MLB.
Tickets, Jobs and Local Notes
Operators say tickets for opening weekend activations will be offered through the venue’s ticketing partners, and the site is already promoting job fairs as staff are hired for the expanded footprint. Stateside Live! lists its address as 1100 Pattison Ave on its official site. Comcast Spectacor and The Cordish Companies have also spotlighted contracting diversity goals tied to the project, including a reported 45 percent MWBE contracting figure, according to Comcast Spectacor. For event listings, hiring information and ticket links, check Stateside Live! and local ticketing pages.
What to Expect
Local music outlets say opening weekend will be stacked with activations and ticketed programming, though specific set times and ticket windows live on the venue’s pages. Visitors should expect larger crowds on major game days and a broader slate of concerts, country nights and watch parties as the plaza ramps up programming through the summer. We will update with direct ticket links and lineup confirmations as organizers release them.
