A drive through south Sacramento on Wednesday ended in tragedy after a woman was ejected from a vehicle that slammed into a parked car along the 5600 block of Valley Hi Drive, police said. The passenger was critically hurt in the impact and later died at a local hospital.
Officers responded to the crash and found the woman outside the vehicle, according to FOX40. She was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries. Police shut down portions of Valley Hi Drive as detectives worked the scene and the Sacramento Police Department's Major Collision Investigation Unit and Crime Scene Investigators took over.

FOX40 reported that police had not immediately released the victim’s name or a probable cause for the crash. Investigators have also not said whether any charges might be filed. For now, detectives are reviewing evidence from the scene and asking anyone who may have seen the collision to come forward.
