A fatal shooting on San Antonio’s South Side has sparked an active police investigation, with officials releasing only bare-bones details so far, local station KSAT reported Friday.
According to KSAT, the San Antonio Police Department has confirmed the investigation but has not released the victim’s name, a suspect description or the exact location of the shooting. SAPD says the case is active and remains under investigation.
How to help investigators
Police are asking anyone with information or video related to the shooting to contact the SAPD tip line at 210-207-7401 or Crime Stoppers at 210-224-STOP (210-224-7867). The City of San Antonio lists those numbers as official channels for submitting tips and information to investigators.
South Side violence in context
The South Side has already seen multiple shootings this year, keeping gun violence front of mind for residents and city officials. Earlier this year, Hoodline reported on a drive-by that hospitalized three and a separate Sunrise Motel shooting in January, both of which remain under investigation. Together, those cases highlight continuing public-safety concerns in neighborhoods on the city’s southern side.
SAPD has not announced any arrests or released additional details in the latest case. This story will be updated as more information becomes available from police.
