According to News4JAX, St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to South Woodlawn Street on April 1 after reports of a multi-person fight that escalated into a stabbing. When deputies arrived, they found an adult man suffering from a stab wound. He was taken to an area hospital for treatment, the outlet reports.

Detectives with the SJSO Major Crimes Unit identified a 37-year-old man as the suspect. Investigators say he was arrested and booked on charges of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, affray and violation of probation.
Aggravated battery with a deadly weapon is defined under Florida Statute 784.045 and is typically filed as a second-degree felony. An affray, broadly described as fighting in a public place, is covered by Florida Statute 870.01 and is usually charged as a first-degree misdemeanor.
Major Crimes Unit Still Digging Into The Case
