Two armed men dressed in black entered a Spring Hill home on Boxbury Lane early Monday morning, jolting a sleeping family and rattling a neighborhood that residents say is usually quiet. The family called police around 2:30 a.m., but the suspects were gone before officers arrived. Authorities say no one was injured.
Police Seek Doorbell- and Security-Camera Footage
According to a post from the Spring Hill Police Department, officers responded to a reported home invasion in the 3000 block of Boxbury Lane. Detectives are asking residents on that street and at the nearby Commonwealth at 31 apartments to review security footage between 1:30 a.m. and 2:45 a.m.
Police say no property was reported stolen and no injuries were sustained. Anyone who finds a relevant video is asked to email Detective Jonathan Tiller at [email protected].
Neighbors Describe A Quick Getaway
Neighbors told reporters they heard a car leaving the area quickly, followed moments later by police sirens. One woman said, "It's a little shocking something like this would happen here," as reported by WSMV.
Another neighbor, who gave his name only as Max, told the station he had his backyard door fixed after the incident and that people on the block are rethinking their home-security routines.
How To Share Tips Or Video
Police say they do not yet have suspect descriptions and are urging anyone with information to contact investigators. Tipsters can email Detective Tiller or call Spring Hill's non‑emergency dispatch at (931) 486‑2632, according to the department's advisory. Detectives plan to review any submitted footage for clues about vehicles or identities and are specifically asking residents to check doorbell and security cameras covering the 1:30 to 2:45 a.m. window. The advisory and contact information are available on the police department's site.
Context For Residents
The incident comes on the heels of another Spring Hill call earlier this month that police later determined was a "swatting" hoax, and the back-to-back scares have some residents calling for more visible patrols, according to WSMV. Local law enforcement frequently asks for community camera footage after overnight incidents, noting that doorbell and security systems often provide the strongest leads on vehicles and suspects.
Investigators say the search for the two suspects remains active and are again asking anyone with information or recordings to contact the Spring Hill Police or email [email protected]. The department has not released suspect descriptions and is urging residents to stay alert and report any suspicious activity to dispatch.
